Gold Dust--Live at the Royalty (1998)

EW's GRADE
B+

Details Lead Performance: Sandy Denny

This never-released recording of the late British folksinger's last concert -- issued on the 20th anniversary of her death -- is a fitting tombstone. Her husky, barleycorn voice still sounds luminous, and the tracks include some of her most heavyhearted ballads (''I'm a Dreamer,'' ''Solo,'' ''The Lady''). Thankfully, the posthumous guitar and harmony overdubs are fairly unobtrusive.
