It could be argued that Williams, 47, is more properly categorized as an entertainer -- no, make that phenomenon -- than as an actor. Yet he's earned three Oscar nominations for dramatic roles (Good Morning, Vietnam, Dead Poets Society, and The Fisher King) and won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for last year's Good Will Hunting. And few would dispute that there is greatness in his physical comedy and vocal pyrotechnics.
