Sure, we want our VH1 -- the nostalgia-dripping, rock-oldies-entrenched VH1, that is. But that doesn't mean there isn't room for creative improvement. Some shows we'd like to see:

WIN DAVID BOWIE'S MONEY On this ch-ch-challenging new game show, the glam-in-the-pan rock monument competes against brainy boomers by answering arcane trivia questions (''Come up with a plausible reason why I formed Tin Machine''). At stake: a portion of the $55 million in bonds he recently sold.

THE RUPAUL STANLEY SHOW The Kiss guitarist swaps lipstick tips with talcum-powdered rock stars. Special guests: Marilyn Manson, Courtney Love.

SHORT STORYTELLERS Before small, attentive audiences, height-challenged musicians like Paul Simon, John Oates, the Artist, and Paul Williams explain how music increased their stature.

BEHIND THE MUZAK How easy is it to turn a typical Celine Dion, Nirvana, or Dave Matthews Band song into elevator music? Find out during a weekly visit to the renowned, Seattle-based background-music company. Simon LeBon hosts.

AFTER THEY WERE ROCK STARS Host Kennedy tells us what ever became of Hootie and the Blowfish, Evan Dando, Collective Soul, Coolio, and all 213 guitarists in the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
