Be afraid, be very afraid. That was the not-so-subtle message of the July 27 L.A. premiere of Halloween: H20. Watching the film, ''I kept yelling, 'Don't do that! Do that!''' said proto-screamer Janet Leigh, who makes a cameo opposite her daughter, H20 star Jamie Lee Curtis. Added LL Cool J, who stars as a security guard in the film, ''Let's just say I was holding on to my wife real tight.'' The thriller left other celebs jittery as well. ''I went to the bathroom in the middle,'' said Christina Ricci, ''and I got so freaked out that I wouldn't come out of my stall until I saw another woman.'' And the post-screening event at the Geffen Playhouse didn't calm moviegoers' shattered nerves. ''This party is what terrifies me,'' said H20's Michelle Williams of the soiree's bloodred lighting and killer rum drinks: Hallow-tini, Boogie Man, and Death by Candlelight. But nothing -- not the crowds, the heat, the Michael Myers look-alikes, or the waitresses serving mac and cheese -- could faze the slasher queen. ''I woke up this morning and knew it was going to be this amazingly perfect day,'' gushed Curtis. ''For better or worse, richer or poorer, this is my gig, and let me tell you, I'm real happy to have it.'' -- Jessica Shaw
