THE REAL BLONDE Matthew Modine, Catherine Keener, Daryl Hannah (1998, Paramount, R, $99.99) A thoroughly superficial movie about superficiality, in which writer-director Tom DiCillo (Living in Oblivion) scores lazy satirical points off of such easy targets as soap operas, music videos, glossy magazine ads, and women who -- you might wanna sit down for this one -- dye their hair. The relationship between lovers Modine and Keener, which is clearly intended as counterpoint to the artifice that surrounds, is as phony as everything else. C
