STARRING Elijah Wood, Laura Harris, Josh Hartnett, Clea Duvall, Shawn Hatosy, Jordana Brewster, Usher, Robert Patrick, Bebe Neuwirth, Salma Hayek, Jon Stewart, Piper Laurie, Famke Janssen
DIRECTED BY Robert Rodriguez
It's the horror droolers' dream team: Scream scripter Williamson penning a sci-fi screenplay for From Dusk Till Dawn's gore master, Rodriguez. Equal parts Scooby-Doo, The X-Files, and the miniseries V, the story pits a band of hip teens against alien-worm-infected teachers bent on -- but of course -- world domination. ''You can tell this isn't just a typical genre movie,'' says Rodriguez, ''and when you see Williamson's name, you know why.'' For the teens, shooting on location ''was basically like going away to summer camp,'' says Wood, who plays the requisite geeky outcast who first suspects something is horribly wrong. ''Except you're doing scenes where you have to freak out and run from scary objects and there's blood and stuff.'' (Dec. 25)
THE LOWDOWN We're still trying to erase Disturbing Behavior from our memories, but Rodriguez plus Williamson equals, er, how many days till we can see this thing?
