STARRING Magda Szubanski, James Cromwell, Mickey Rooney, AND THE VOICES OF Elizabeth Daily, Steven Wright, David Warner
DIRECTED BY George Miller
In this sequel to the 1995 best picture-nominated hit, the sheepherding porker hoofs off to the big city to earn some cash and help save Boss Hoggett's farm. ''In a weird way, the story's autobiographical,'' says Miller (who produced the original). ''I'm a country boy who moved to the city. So Babe's like my alter ego. I aspire to be like Babe.'' Expect barnyards of talking animals -- there's one scene with 300 chatty critters -- and lots more action. ''It's fast-paced,'' promises animal trainer Carl Miller (no relation). ''You could call it Indiana Babe.'' (Nov. 25)
THE LOWDOWN This sequel sounds kosher. We're more concerned about Babe 3, which Miller's already planning. Beneath the Planet of the Pigs, anyone?
