KING CRIMSON Absent Lovers (DGM) This 1984 Montreal concert is rife with the sort of crafty guitar extrapolations and fusion-damaged exhibitionism that led many to dismiss the group's efforts as highbrow head music. But even if your taste runs to less esoteric fare, there's no denying that the two-disc Lovers is as weird and rarefied as larks' tongues in aspic. You just know some cutting-edge DJ will sample this stuff sooner or later. B-
