Anybody who retains fond memories of the 1968 original should be forcibly restrained from renting The Odd Couple II, a comedy so feeble that it could serve as a drinking game for recovering alcoholics: Knock one back every time something seems even hypothetically amusing. (Cue 97-minute expectant pause.) Seventeen years later, Felix's daughter and Oscar's son are getting married; the boys get lost en route to the wedding and have no choice but to pass the time reciting ancient vaudeville routines or, wait, was that their dialogue? Walter Matthau's aging libido is a particular gut buster. Truly embarrassing; let's just all pretend we didn't notice. D
