Music Review

Supernatural (1999)

EW's GRADE
B+

Details Lead Performance: Santana; Genre: R&B

Christian rock's most shameless band continues doing whatever it takes to convert the youth of America to God's way. In the past, they tried alt-rock and dance; Supernatural looks for salvation in older rock styles, from new wave (the Cars-style ''Since I Met You'') to prog rock (nods to Queen and Pink Floyd). dc Talk is damn good at hooks — pardon the phrase, guys — but the fervent proselytizing of it all may feel like they want to sample some of the devil's music by record's end.
