THE DR. DREW AND ADAM BOOK: A SURVIVAL GUIDE TO LIFE AND LOVE Drew Pinsky, M.D., and Adam Carolla with Marshall Fine (Dell Trade Paperback, $14.95) Ah, the modern travails that face our postadolescent community: I had sex with my girlfriend's mother. My parents force me to take diet pills. Can you get pregnant in a Jacuzzi? Dear Abby would be appalled at some of the situations physician Dr. Drew Pinsky and comedian Adam Carolla gleefully dissect on their MTV and radio call-in program Loveline. And now the unlikely pair (Pinsky is white-coat sensitive, and Carolla is all breezy butt-head humor) have turned their act into a book. Unfortunately, their chemistry doesn't translate quite as well to the printed page. The Dr. Drew and Adam Book: A Survival Guide to Life and Love reads more like a compilation of show transcripts than a cohesive advice tome, and gems like the pair's musings with rapper-actor Ice-T on the merits of alcohol enemas are few and far between.
