with square lenses in shades of yellow, green, and blue — is
jumping off the shelves at Gucci on Rodeo Drive.

For the money crowd, it's Takao, which opened two years ago in
Brentwood and serves Spielberg, Hanks, etc. The hipsters prefer
Ita-Cho. Located in a Hollywood strip mall, it serves Japanese
cuisine (no sushi here) to Tobey Maguire, Julie Delpy, Sara
Gilbert, Sofia Coppola, director Tony Kaye, Cameron Diaz, Robin
Tunney, and Jennifer Jason Leigh.
Power T-Shirt
When Gary Oldman got the idea of putting B&W photos of famous
directors on T-shirts, boutique owner Tracey Ross put it in
play. Now these white cotton tees with pics of Cassavetes,
Peckinpah, Fellini, Kubrick, et al., are being snapped up by
Winona Ryder and director Brett Ratner (Rush Hour).
Power Vintage
Wasteland on Melrose in Hollywood. ''We buy the kinds of things
celebrities would be selling,'' says co-owner Cheryl Cohen, ''and
sell the things that they'd be buying.'' Marilyn Manson picked up
a David Bowie-esque red jumpsuit. Vincent Gallo and Perry
Farrell come for the sequined Nudie suits. Johnny Depp chose
some of his wardrobe for Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas here,
where he also goes to add to his vintage denim collection (so do
denim enthusiasts Rob Schneider and Tim Roth). Jim Jarmusch
scored a long-sleeved gabardine shirt, while Jennifer Tilly
stops here for Pucci, and Winona Ryder and Kate Moss for '60s
cocktail dresses.
Power Suit
Prada's Techno Gabardine Suit, a fitted, three-button blazer with
natty plain-front, and narrow-leg pants made of stretch fabric
that doesn't wrinkle. Available in black, gray, or navy for
$1,540, at the Prada men's store on Rodeo Drive.
Power Cell PhoneMotorola's V3620, which just hit stores, is smaller and lighter than the StarTac (the V-Series weighs in at just 2.7 ounces, versus StarTac's 3.1), and comes with a built-in answering machine, a phone book, and hearing-aid compatibility. The VIP package includes two lithium batteries, a desktop charger, a car adapter, a headset, and a belt attachment — a steal at $1,200.

Damon, Marilyn Manson, Rose McGowan, and Minnie Driver.
Runner-up: the Cosmopolitan at 360[degrees] at Sunset Boulevard
and Vine, a contemporary cocktail lounge in a penthouse with
panoramic views of L.A. Madonna, Kevin Spacey, Pamela Anderson
Lee, and Cameron Diaz have sipped.
Power Shoe
In New York, the hot fall shoe is the gray flannel pump.
Sergio Rossi, a favorite of Angelina Jolie and Vivica A. Fox,
makes a nice pair. For L.A., it's Demeulemeester black ankle
boots ($510-570) from Madison on Robertson. They're on back
order, so you'll have to put your name on the waiting list
behind Samantha Mathis and Godzilla's Maria Pitillo.
