This Sydney-based, self-proclaimed ''Beat Combo Extraordinaire'' isn't quite as extraordinaire as it might hope — Big Star, and the Knack, among other Amurricans, had already perfected this pop-rock style — but they're darn good at snapping hooks, chiming guitars, and earnest-boy harmonies on You Am I's #4 Record. (For pop-rock cognoscenti: They're the Aussie equivalent of the Records.) B
