Peter Gallagher as a sleazy, soulless shutterbug tough to argue with that casting. As he snaps police photos of murder victims and moonlights as a motel-room blackmailer, he projects a deplorable apathy few other actors could accomplish. Sadly, the neo-noir Johnny Skidmarks spins its wheels over a plot Gallagher must find out who's offing his partners in blackmail paved with unconvincing red herrings. Then the film slides into a climax fit only for a Friday the 13th sequel. C-
