Few post-supergroup lead-vocalist experiments ring as hollow and ill-advised as the flaccid solo work of Steve Perry. Within the crafty ranks of Journey, he rose to ''Infinity''/''Evolution'' heights. Alone, he sinks like a stone, weighted by knucklehead concepts like the repeat-times-one-hundred chorus of ''Oh Sherrie'' or the tinny operatics of ''Against the Wall.'' At least he had nice feathered hair.
