This remake reproduces much from the 1961 Hayley Mills vehicle about twins reuniting their divorced parents. Trouble is, the original wasn't much to begin with -- alternately sweet-natured and insipid -- and too long. This version offers a cosmetic updating and an even looser grip on reality (when the twins -- the digitally doubled Lohan -- square off for a fencing match, they cavort about like little Jackie Chans). Kids, though, may respond to the girls' manipulation of adults by means of Hollywood-processed sass.
