Jerry Maguire (1997)

EW's GRADE
B

Details Lead Performance: Various Artists; Genre: Soundtracks

Jerry Maguire director Cameron Crowe raids the rock archives and comes up with a quirky compilation of tunes that comfortably mixes and matches inspired, previously unreleased versions of nuggets by Bob Dylan (''Shelter From the Storm'') and Elvis (''Pocketful of Rainbows'') with familiar favorites by Bruce Springsteen (''Secret Garden'') and the Who (''Gettin' in Tune''). A new song by Aimee Mann, the bitterly effective ''Wise Up,'' compensates for the sluggish title track by Crowe's wife, Heart's Nancy Wilson.
