With its second full-length effort, Flags for Unknown Territories, Saturnine comes into its own in a big way. Edgily shimmering guitars; stirring, melodic bass lines; and vocals as plaintive and literate as those of R.E.M. in their mid-'80s heyday all add up to one of the most promising pop enterprises in recent memory.
