Jeru the Damaja claims Wrath ''was created to SAVE hip-hop.'' He almost succeeds, but not without contradictions: Jeru expertly satirizes phony gangstas on ''Tha Bulls---,'' while casting himself as a ghetto superhero in ''Revenge of the Prophet (Part 5).'' But his positive rhymes on Wrath of the Math ultimately win the day: Combined with DJ Premier's head-bobbing minimalist funk, Jeru tells it like it is like no other.
