John Anderson: Greatest Hits (1984)

EW's GRADE
B+

Details Lead Performance: John Anderson; Genres: Country, Reissues

This 15-song collection is actually the third greatest-hits album from the funky John Anderson (the first two covered his early Warner Bros. years) and reprises only a hackneyed remake of ''Swingin''' from that time. Although his post-Warner Bros. years at MCA and Capitol are missing on John Anderson: Greatest Hits, there's still plenty to please from his BNA period that followed, including ''Money in the Bank,'' ''Straight Tequila Night,'' and ''When It Comes to You'' — all delivered in Anderson's inimitable swamp-creature baritone.
