Cathode-ray-tanned collectors of music sold in late-night TV ads can indulge their habit even further with four new volumes of music from TV: TVT Records recently released the latest installments in its Television's Greatest Hits series, a multiple-CD collection of TV theme songs dating back to the '50s. Many of these quirky ditties -- the new volumes include, among 255 others, the small-screen-gem intros to Fish, Gigantor, The Simpsons, Blossom, and Skippy, the Bush Kangaroo -- were crooned by well-known pop artists. (Remember Harry Nilsson's ''The Courtship of Eddie's Father (My Best Friend)'' or Jose Feliciano's ''Chico and the Man''?) In fact, a quick flick of the stereo remote control will expose you to more musical talent than you'd find on any given half hour of Alternative Nation. Certainly, the new discs give idiot-box savant Rosie O'Donnell plenty of merry melodies to add to her notorious theme-song singin' repertoire. Indeed, at-home viewers can match wits with her by taking this Scholastic Apti-tube Test -- simply pair up the newest TV themes with the musicians and, um, actors who perform them.
