Three music directors discuss their top singles and forecast hits of the future:

KSFM, Sacramento (Top 40) Trejo:

-- ''No Diggity,'' BLACKstreet: ''They made some changes in the band, and it's brought them to a new level. I guess that's why they named the album Another Level.''

-- ''I Love You Always Forever,'' Donna Lewis: ''One day I saw a mother and daughter in a car, both mouthing the words. When you see something like that, it's a smash.''

-- ''Twisted,'' Keith Sweat: ''For being around as long as he has, he sounds great.''

One to watch: ''For You I Will,'' Monica: ''We've been playing it for four weeks now, and the phones have lit up.''

WBZU, Richmond (Alternative) Mike Scott:

-- ''Don't Speak,'' No Doubt: ''A huge record that started out in alternative and crossed over everywhere.''

-- ''Would? (Unplugged),'' Alice in Chains: ''One of the few really cool grunge acts still on alternative radio.''

-- ''Stinkfist,'' Tool: ''I didn't expect it to take off like it has. I guess it was the right time for a good, in-your-face rock record.''

One to watch: ''I hope people don't overlook Soul Coughing. They have a very hip sound, which people may not yet be ready for. But they're certainly somebody to keep an eye on.''

KFGO, Fargo, N.D. (Country) Kydd Ballou:

-- ''One Way Ticket (Because I Can),'' LeAnn Rimes: ''The novelty has worn off with the age thing, but she's just an incredible talent.''

-- ''Maybe We Should Just Sleep On It,'' Tim McGraw: ''He's got an unbelievable following in this area. Everything we've played by him has been very successful.''

-- ''Friends,'' John Michael Montgomery: ''Number 1 phone requests as far as ballads go for four weeks in a row.''

One to watch: ''We Danced Anyway,'' Deana Carter: ''People are going nuts for this lady. It's a different sound, not as slick.''
