Chicago: The Musical (1997)

EW's GRADE
A

Details Lead Performance: Various Artists; Genre: Soundtracks

Every element of this cast album is right — from Kander and Ebb's razzle-dazzle score to John Frosk's clarion trumpeting to star turns by Bebe Neuwirth (''All That Jazz''), Ann Reinking (''Nowadays''), and Joel Grey (''Mister Cellophane''). Ralph Burns' arrangements pack so much panache, you almost don't miss seeing the Bob Fosse-style choreography that help make Chicago Broadway's most electrifying show.
