JENNY McCARTHY will join fellow Playmate Pamela Anderson Lee in the literary arena. The former host of MTV's Singled Out has signed with HarperCollins imprint ReganBooks (which sent Howard Stern and Christopher Darden to bestsellerdom) for just over a million dollars, to pen what one flack hesitantly termed ''a humorous diary of her daily life.'' The deal was packaged by McCarthy's manager and boyfriend, Ray Manzella; a release date has not yet been determined.
RANDOM HOUSE, which published Lawrence Schiller's American Tragedy, is talking to the O.J.-trial junkie about a repeat engagement. Schiller, who collaborated on Simpson's I Want to Tell You (Little, Brown), wants to write about children's beauty pageants -- the subject of much scrutiny since the murder of a Little Miss Colorado, JonBenet Ramsey.
