The end result is a time capsule of Ali's glory days, years before he would be diminished by Parkinson's syndrome. "He was at the zenith of his power as an athlete, entertainer, and scalawag," says writer George Plimpton, who wrote about the fight for Sports Illustrated. As for Gast, his own legend is growing. "I got a call from DreamWorks," he says. "Me, a documentary filmmaker." And the FedEx boxes, bearing awards, fill the places where his film used to be.
