The girl-group phenom promises to shoo any buzzards away from long-hitless Virgin Records. Sony had fewer bragging rights, as the Offspring entered with a bit less spring in their step at No. 9 -- a tentative debut for a band that sold 8 million on an indie label last time around and made a big-deal leap to the majors with Ixnay on the Hombre. There wasn't much room for spice guys in this top 10 at all, with eight of the albums coming from female-fronted acts or female-driven soundtracks. Ixnay on the oysbay?
