Tim Allen operates on automatic pilot as an irascible New Yorker who discovers he has a 13-year-old son (Sam Huntington), raised in the Amazon as a nature boy by his estranged wife (JoBeth Williams). When the kid comes to NYC, cross-cultural wackiness ensues, and Dad discovers that being a decent father is good for the soul. (This being Disney, it also means he drops his caricature of a materialistic, childless girlfriend, played with much decolletage by Lolita Davidovitch.)
