SEX AND THE OTHER MAN Ron Eldard, Kari Wuhrer (1996, A-Pix, R, priced for rental) Bad acting, bad dialogue, and a ludicrous plot sink this awful direct-to-video black comedy written and directed by Karl Slovin, who should have cut his losses. Eldard, from NBC's Men Behaving Badly, and Wuhrer, from MTV's Remote Control, simulate sex and overact annoyingly as an idiotic New York couple who discover that their most passionate (and fertile) sex can only take place in the presence of her boss (Big Night's Stanley Tucci, whom one can only hope deeply regrets this project). So they kidnap him, with melodramatic results. Every TV actor needs a hiatus project, but this stuff is soft-core dreck. F -- Lisa Schwarzbaum
