The Doors cofounder Ray Manzarek has signed a mid-six-figures deal with Putnam for his autobiography, which will include the story of his collaborator and close friend Jim Morrison. ''He decided he wanted to set the record straight,'' says acquiring editor Nanscy Neiman. Putnam will publish in summer '98.
