Boohoo for the quickie biographer: Gillian Anderson, much like many X-Philes, doesn't seem to have had much of a life before the show. Not so much unauthorized as flicked away by the Anderson periphery, the hackish but unstoppably chipper Marc Shapiro has raided the press-clip morgue and pumped a few scattered acquaintances (anonymous former chums, a fifth-grade teacher) to re-create the actress' punk phase, her struggling-waitress phase, that one lucky audition, and all ''the blah, blah, blah'' (as he puts it) that followed. Except for The Anderson Files' crisp reviews of The X-Files websites, this slapdash effort an inevitable rite of passage for a meteorically rising star is blah, blah, blah indeed. C
