Like elder sister Terry, Rosalyn McMillan does well in Knowing by grafting a stock romance fantasy onto everyday life, dish washing and all. Her story of factory worker Ginger, who's determined to get her real estate license against husband Jackson's wishes, is minutely realistic a literary weakness that's also the book's emotional strength.
