Papas Fritas crafts some indie-pop dynamos on their second album, Helioself. And while the Boston trio shares mike duty, it's drummer Shivika Asthana's pensive vocals that astonish. She sneaks in a surprisingly beautiful up-tempo dirge about loss as forlorn as a Karen Carpenter lament. A-
