It's 1977 again, at least in the minds of this scrappy punk combo led by ex-Ramones drummer Marky. In pumping, three-chord paeans to phone sex (''Telephone Love'') and alchoholism (''I Wants My Beer'' — replete with real-burp intro), the spectre of Ramone's previous band still hangs heavy. But, Marky Ramone and the Intruders stay true enough to the Ramones' manic energy and twisted worldview in Marky Ramone and the Intruders to make this album a more than adequate substitute for the real thing. B
