Details Lead Performance: Lamb

This U.K. duo sauce their hyperkinetic drum-and-bass rhythms with smooth horns and stand-up bass. It is vocalist of Lamb Louise Rhodes, however, who shows how emotionally satisfying techno can be. Her haunting whisper in Lamb cuts through the mix, giving the grooves an intimacy more attuned to smoke-filled jazz clubs than open-air raves. B+
