Self-described ''flamboyant free-spirit'' Dennis Rodman is known as the guy who lets it all hang out, and his eagerness in Walk on the Wild Side (with Michael Silver) to share his thoughts on everything from sports to his own mortality (''When I die, I want to be stripped naked, frozen, and placed in a see-through freezer'') more than justifies his rep. His take on substance abuse is truly mystifying (he slams drug users as ''stupid'' and ''crazy'' while praising Dock Ellis for his no-hitter, accomplished while tripping on acid), as are his views on safe sex (''there are times when I just roll the dice''), celebrity status, and almost everything else. Together, these random musings are less a walk on the wild side than a long, strange trip over the edge. C
