This two-CD remix project lets loose some of today's top experimenters on the songs of influential German band Can. Though several of the new mixes of Can: Sacrilege render the originals unrecognizable, the best ones preserve Can's distinctive pulse; Sonic Youth's ''Spoon'' and the Orb's ''Halleluwah'' build on the band's innovation and seamless integration of man and machine. Some of these grooves are nearly 30 years old, but their unique sound remains entirely contemporary. A
