If Ray Charles proved an affinity between country and R&B by covering Hank Williams, Joose's keening version of this Garth Brooks tune, ''If Tomorrow Never Comes'', shows how far the genres have drifted. Even Stevie Wonder would be hard-pressed to find any soul in Brooks' banalities. And the song's funereal pace makes it feel like tomorrow will come before the last chorus. C-
