No one can be heard whispering ''Paul is dead,'' but Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon contains its own hidden curiosity. In April, deejays in Boston and New York reported an odd phenomenon: The classic 1973 album can double as an alternative soundtrack to The Wizard of Oz. Here's how it works: Cue up Oz on your VCR and start Moon right after the MGM lion roars for the third time. Then watch as the Roger Waters-penned lyrics neatly underscore the Victor Fleming-directed film. Although nobody seems to know how or when the practice was started, it may have originated among Floyd fans on the Internet. (There's a website devoted to it at http://www.xnet.com/~arkiver/ dsotr.shtml.) The coincidences have led many to believe that Waters intentionally planned the synchronicity.
