Videophiles yearning for the sandiest of romances had best head to the beach this summer. The English Patient, that sweeping, Oscar-sweeping epic, isn't slated to reach video stores until September, some 10 months after its theatrical release. While it's normal to milk the box office with an Oscar champion like Patient which won in nine categories, including Best Picture after 28 weeks and almost $80 million earned, Miramax has just about exhausted its art-house darling. On video, you'll have your choice: letterboxed desert vistas or a full-screen version for those intimate moments between Ralph Fiennes and Kristin Scott Thomas.
