Video Review

Jackie Chan's First Strike

EW's GRADE
B+

Details With: Jackie Chan

He's finally seeing mainstream success in America, but video is still a natural setting for homey Asian superstar Jackie Chan. Our hero spends half of this James Bond tribute, Jackie Chan's First Strike, saying how thrilled he is to be living like 007. Yet amid the jet-setting and complicated plotting, Chan remains his familiar comic Everyman for whom regular-guy panic is a constant source of brilliant fight choreography. And it's those fights that make Strike a great action flick for the entire family. You can even keep track of the heroes and villains during the underwater tussles. That's more than can be said for any Bond film. B+
