Lead Performance: Teenage Fanclub

It may be reductive, though not unfair, to say that Teenage Fanclub have essentially been making the same album since 1991's admittedly sublime Bandwagonesque. Maybe they let all those cred-enhancing Big Star comparisons go to their heads, but their airy, achy rock balladry, while remaining just barely proficient, has grown utterly wearying in Songs from Northern Britain.
