Missy ''Misdemeanor'' Elliott's songwriting resume reads like a who's who of contemporary R&B, and on her solo debut famous friends like Aaliyah repay the debt (Busta Rhymes and Lil' Kim also cameo). But Elliott doesn't need help on Supa Dupa Fly: She's a wickedly innovative singer-rapper who favors expansive song structures and trip-hoppy textures. In the process, she creates an evocative space-age soul all her own. A-
