"There's not a lot of room to be inspired by anything here," Penn explains.

"As Bukowski used to say, just hide out for four days," he says. "Pull down the drapes. Don't even think. Don't read. Just be there for four days with the drapes down.

"You come outside, you feel 100 percent stronger."
