As on his '95 debut, Buddy Miller's second album, Poison Love, walks the line between scratch-and-grin hillbilly and poetic, progressive country rock. With his wife, Julie, he reprises the sound of such golden duet teams as Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris, the latter of whom joins Steve Earle and Jim Lauderdale as guests. Raw, real, and resonant.
