If Greg Garing had been content with merely being a great guitar player, Alone have been a fine debut. But in attempting to become the Garth Brooks of trip-hop, the not untalented singer-songwriter took a bold commercial gamble and lost, burying his down-home talents beneath a thick layer of electronic manure.
