Summer may be over at the nation's beaches, but it's just beginning on the USA Network, where the world's most popular lifeguard drama, Baywatch, now airs twice a day (weekdays starting Sept. 22, 4-5 p.m. and 6-7 p.m.). Sure, you could watch it to savor star-executive producer David Hasselhoff's stunningly bad acting, the ludicrous plotlines, or the gorgeous SoCal scenery. But let's face it: You watch Baywatch to drool over the babes in red bathing suits running in slo-mo. And what a surfeit the series has enjoyed, from Nicole Eggert to Alexandra Paul to Pamela Anderson. They've all since left the show to move on to allegedly bigger and better things, but now you can enjoy their ample gifts over and over again. Baywatch has become such a global smash that it's easy to forget it underwent its own resuscitation: Canceled by NBC after a single season in 1990, it was relaunched by Hasselhoff in syndication a year later, and the rest is TV-kitsch history. Maybe he's not such a himbo after all.
