NBC Busts Out

This week's TV ratings

Powered by the live ER (1st), one of the biggest Seinfeld (2nd) premieres ever, and a huge debut for Kirstie Alley's lingerie-mogul sitcom, Veronica's Closet (3rd), NBC dominated the first week of the new TV season with seven shows finishing in the top 10. Closet racked up 35 million viewers, hanging on to all but a little over 2 million from its Seinfeld lead-in. CBS' Touched by an Angel (8th) continued to soar, and Brooklyn South (21st) locked up solid debut numbers, while a perky Dharma & Greg (25th) helped ABC recover from a lackluster Ellen (55th) premiere.
