As any video clerk since Quentin Tarantino knows, it takes more than nine Oscars to make a movie No. 1 as a rental. But The English Patient, the Best Picture of 1996, made the most of its pedigree, debuting at No. 3. Perhaps Patient's two-cassette length spells heavy going for casual renters; The Saint, which might not win Best Picture, holds on to the No. 1 spot for the second week running. While stores ordered relatively few copies of music biopic Selena, the tapes are renting heavily enough for it to grab the No. 9 spot.
