Details Lead Performance: The Apples in Stereo; Genre: Indie Rock

Evolution? Not a chance. This Denver band's stunted musical vocabulary begins and ends with Rubber Soul, Pet Sounds, and Something Else-era Kinks. But despite its narrow vision, their second full-length album is a sunny, fuzzy affair, a winning combination of inventive melodic twists and perfectly unpolished production. B+
