The new romantic comedy Dharma & Greg (28th) is making beautiful music for ABC. In its second week, Dharma scored 14 million viewers, down only 2.1 million from its debut. Other Alphabet net high notes included a solid start for Soul Man (16th), plus Ellen (15th) improving by 5.3 million viewers over its dismal premiere. And NYPD Blue's debut (11th) easily beat CBS' Dellaventura (64nd). Overall, NBC's Thursday night dominated the ratings, albeit with lower numbers than its record-breaking season premiere. Veronica's Closet (3rd) was still strong, although it lost almost 4 million viewers from its Seinfeld lead-in.
